Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

A2 East Street, St Michaels Road & Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 East Street, St Michaels Road & Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne from 1st September 2026 with estimated completion by 9th September 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 weeknights only, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed between the junctions with B2006 Crown Quay Lane and Gazehill Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for vehicles travelling east is via A2 St Michaels Road, Dover Street, West Street, London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout, Chestnut Street, A249 Maidstone Road, Stockbury Roundabout, M2 J5-J6, A251 Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Ospringe Street, London Road, The Street, Fox Hill and Canterbury Road.

The alternative route for vehicles travelling west is via A2 Canterbury Road, Fox Hill, The Street, London Road, Ospringe Street, London Road, Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6-J5, A249 Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, Key Street Slip Northbound off, A2 Key Street Roundabout, Key Street, London Road and St Michaels Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Boxted Lane, Newington, ME9 7FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Boxted Lane, Newington from 18th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Rift Valley Farm and the junction with School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Church Lane, A2 High Street, London Road, Hartlip Hill, Breach Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 2JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow sewer maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne from 14th September 2026 with estimated completion by 9th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30, weekdays only, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Jubilee Street and Millen Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Millen Road, B2006 St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road, Chalkwell Road, Watsons Hill and vice versa.

Marshalls will be on site to maintain residential access.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Church Road, Faversham, ME13 8SR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow works requiring a cherry picker to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Faversham from 4th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 06:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the entrance to St Mary of Charity Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

College Road, Minterne Avenue & Riddles Road, Sittingbourne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow S278, S50 and associated utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of College Road, Minterne Avenue & Riddles Road, Sittingbourne from 1st September 2026, with estimated completion by 12th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed at the junctions where they meet, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Minterne Avenue, Bradley Drive, Gore Court Road, Ufton Lane, Homewood Avenue, College Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

High Street & Central Avenue, Sittingbourne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street & Central Avenue, Sittingbourne from 19:00 hours on 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 02:00 hours on 15th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

High Street will be closed between the junctions with Central Avenue and Bell Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Central Avenue, Avenue of Remembrance and Bell Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The One-Way Order on Central Avenue will be suspended for the duration of the works, to allow for diverted traffic.

Holbeam Road, Eastling, ME13 0HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Holbeam Road, Eastling from 2nd September 2026 with estimated completion by 3rd September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 50m south of Stalisfield Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Holbeam Road, Stalisfield Road, Church Road, Holbeam Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Holbeam Road, Eastling, ME13 0HT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Holbeam Road, Eastling from 4th September 2026 with estimated completion by 7th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 95m south of the junction with Stalisfield Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Holbeam Road, Stalisfield Road, Church Road, Holbeam Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Plough Road, Minster-on-sea, ME12 3SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Plough Road, Minster-on-sea from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 25th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Perry Wood, Selling, ME13 9RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Perry Wood, Selling from 16th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:30 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Terrys Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shepherds Hill, Grove Road, Perry Wood and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Royal Road & Delamark Road, Sheerness.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow installation and reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic and pedestrians on part of Royal Road & Delamark Road, Sheerness from 1st September 2026, with estimated completion by 22nd September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The roads will be closed between the junctions with Broadway and Esplanade, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for through traffic during these closures, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

The alternative route for pedestrians will be displayed on site.

Traffic marshals will be in place Monday to Saturday between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00, to control traffic movements.

School Lane, Iwade.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Iwade from 1st September 2026 with estimated completion by 2nd September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 260m and 270m west of the entrance to Culnells Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ferry Road, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane, Iwade Road, School Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Scocles Road, Minster-on-sea, ME12 3FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow gas mains installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Scocles Road, Minster-on-sea from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 25th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Thistle Hill Way and Elm Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2500 Lower Road, Barton Hill Drive, B2008 Minster Road, High Street, Back Lane, Scocles Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

South Bush Lane, Gillingham, ME8 8PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of South Bush Lane, Gillingham from 2nd September 2026, with estimated completion by 4th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Meresborough Lane and A2 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Bush Lane, A2 London Road, Spade Lane, Meresborough Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Susans Lane, Upchurch, ME9 7HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Susans Lane, Upchurch from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 18th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Frog Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Various Roads, Faversham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow the Faversham Hop Festival 2026 to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Faversham from 5th September 2026 for up to two days, or until the event is complete.

The following roads will be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 19:00 on both days, to the extents listed below. They will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so.

Court Street – between the junctions with Crescent Road and Market Place.

East Street – between the junctions with Newton Road and Preston Street.

Market Place – in its entirety.

Market Street – in its entirety.

Middle Row – in its entirety.

Preston Street – between the junctions with East Street and Station Road/Forbes Road.

Stone Street – between the junctions with Preston Street and Union Street.

West Street – between the junctions with Market Place and North Lane.

Leslie Smith Drive – in its entirety.

Bank Street – in its entirety.

Partridge Lane – between the junctions with Court Street and Thomas Road.

Various Roads, Faversham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow crane works for building repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Faversham. This order takes effect from 14th September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published on One.Network in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

Closures

The following roads around Faversham town centre will have closures imposed between the junctions with Crescent Road and Stone Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
