What is happening?
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF CARDIFF (PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS OF STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 23) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on the 20th August 2026 the County Council of the City and County of Cardiff in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, made traffic regulation orders, the general effect of which to impose traffic restrictions in the lengths of road set out in the Schedule below. The title and nature of the Orders is also described in the said Schedule.
The Orders will come into operation on the 25th August 2026 or on the date that the necessary lines and signs are placed on site, whichever is the later.
The following will apply to eligible residents wishing to apply for Residents Parking Permits. No more than 3 permits will be issued per property (one of which being a Visitor Permit) and the cost of such permits will be in accordance with the County Council of The City and County of Cardiff (Prohibitions and Restrictions of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2024 Schedule 4 which are for the time being:-

If you wish to question the Order provisions or validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that any requirement of, or any instrument made under the Act, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 20th August 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

b) Catherine Street on its north east side from a point 20 metres south east its junction with Fanny Street to a point 47 metres north west of its junction with Woodville Road
c) Rhymney Terrace on its north east side from a point 66 metres south east of its junction with Richards Street for a distance of 3 metres south east

i) Lane to the rear of 85-139 Maindy Road throughout the length of the adopted highway
j) Gelligaer Street i) on its north west side from a point 20 metres south west of its junction with Whitchurch Road for a distance of 4 metres south west and ii) from a point 148 metres north east of its junction with Maindy Road for a distance of 3 metres north east
k) Gelligaer Gardens on both sides from the north eastern end of Gelligaer Gardens for a distance of 3 metres south west

4. Prevent you from waiting and loading at any time in:
a) May Street i) on its north side from a point 5 metres east of its junction with Cathays Terrace for a distance of 30 metres east, and ii) on its south side from a point 5 metres east of its junction with Cathays Terrace for a distance of 13 metres east
