Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
GRAVESHAM AREA
A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne DA12 3JH (CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION & BAN RIGHT HAND TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow National Highways Ltd works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne. The right hand turn into the Skanska site compounds will be banned, 250 meters east of the access to Thames View crematorium and cemetery along with Cycle Lane Suspension for 245m.
Works are planned from 31st August 2026, with estimated completion by 31st August 2031.
A227 Wrotham Road, Gravesend, DA11 0LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A227 Wrotham Road, Gravesend, on or after 3rd September 2026 for up to 1 night between 20.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between B261 Old Road West and St Thomas’s Avenue.
The alternative route is via A227 Wrotham Road, A2 Watling Street, A2260 Southfleet Road, A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, A226 Thames Way, A226, Overcliffe, A226 Bath Street, A226 West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 The Terrace, A226 Harmer Street, A226 Milton Road, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road and vice versa.
Cutter Ridge Road, Luddesdown, DA13 0XF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cutter Ridge Road, Luddesdown, on or after 18th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed adjacent to Cutteridge Cottage.
The alternative route is via Luddesdown Road, Buckland Road and vice versa.
Hall Road & B262 Springhead Road, Northfleet, DA11 8EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND WEIGHT LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of planing, surfacing and lining works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hall Road and B262 Springhead Road, Northfleet. The 7.5T Weight Limit will be suspended on B262 Springhead Road.
Hall Road is planned from 16th September 2026, with estimated completion by 19th September 2026.
B262 Springhead Road is planned from 21st September 2026, with estimated completion by 25th September 2026.
The roads will be closed between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs weeknights only.
Hall Road will be closed between Painters Ash Lane and the Leisure Centre/Kent Family Hub.
B262 Springhead Road will be closed between Waterdales and B262 Hall Road Roundabout.
The 7.5T Weight Limit will be suspended on B262 Springhead Road during the closure of Hall Road.

Hermitage Road, Higham, ME3 7ND (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the installation of a new electricity supply, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hermitage Road, Higham, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside St Margarets.
The alternative route is via Hermitage Road, Lower Rochester Road, Chequers Street, School Lane and vice versa.
Melliker Lane, Meopham, DA13 0HY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Melliker Lane, Meopham, on or after 4th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Orchard Cottage.
The alternative route is via Melliker Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, B260 Longfield Road and vice versa.
Pine Avenue, Gravesend, DA12 1QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pine Avenue, Gravesend, on or after 1st September 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 56.
The alternative route is via Pine Avenue, B261 Old Road East, Milton Avenue, Milton Hall Road and vice versa.
Springhead Road, Northfleet, DA11 9ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one decayed telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling work, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Springhead Road, Northfleet, on or after 15th September 2026 between 19.00hrs and 21.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 10.
The alternative route is via B2175 London Road, A226 Thames Way, Springhead Road and vice versa.
Thistle Road, Gravesend, DA12 2LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Southern Water Services works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thistle Road, Gravesend, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 18.
The alternative route is via Ingoldsby Road, Shamrock Road, Dickens Road and vice versa.
Various Roads, Gravesend, DA11 7RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow Gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Various Roads, Gravesend. The Cycle Track Watling Street Linear Park will be suspended.
1st September 2026 to 2nd October 2026 - The Cycle Track Watling Street Linear Park will be suspended at the junction with Watling Street.
21st September 2026 to 6th November 2026 - Watling Street will be closed between Singlewell Road and Golf links Avenue.
26th October 2026 to 4th December 2026 - Hever Court Road will be closed between Epsom Close and Watling Street.
26th October 2026 to 4th December 2026 - Singlewell Road will be closed between Hever Court
Road and number 374.
The alternative route for Cycle Track Watling Street Linear Park is via Wrotham Road, Old Watling Street path outside Sunny Height, Old Watling Street, Golf Links Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Singlewell Road, Hever Court Road, Epsom Close, Watling Cycle Path.
The alternative route for Watling Street is via Golf Links Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Singlewell Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for Hever Court Road is via Valley Drive, B261 Old Road East, Cross Lane East, Singlewell Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for Singlewell Road is via Hever Court Road, Valley Drive, B261 Old Road East, Cross Lane East and from accessing from Watling Street, divert Via Golf Links Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Singlewell Road and vice versa.
