What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
DOVER AREA
Coombe Valley Road, Dover, CT17 0HQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coombe Valley Road, Dover, on or after 31st August 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Lambton Road and Coombe Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Coombe Valley Road, Barwick Road, St Radigunds Road, Bunkers Hill Road, Hillside Road, Crabble Avenue, Crabble Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, Cherry Tree Avenue and A256 London Road.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, Crabble Road, Crabble Avenue, Hillside Road, Bunkers Hill Road, St Radigunds Road, Barwick Road and Coombe Valley Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Delf Street, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Delf Street, Sandwich, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 41, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Street St Mary, Strand Street, Bowling Street, Delf Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Holness Road, Ash, CT3 2JG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Holness Road, Ash, on or after 15th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 5, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Holness Road, Chequer Lane, The Street, Molland Lane, School Road, Molland Lea and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Honeywood Parkway, Whitfield, CT16 3FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow highway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honeywood Parkway, Whitfield, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the roundabout with Tesco to the entrance of B&Q, between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Honeywood Parkway, Honeywood Road, A2 Dover Road, A2 Dover Road Slip Eastbound Off, A256 Whitfield Interchange Northern Roundabout, A256 Link Between Interchange Roundabouts, A256 Whitfield Interchange Southern Roundabout and Honeywood Parkway.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Honeywood Parkway, A256 Whitfield Interchange Southern Roundabout, A2 Dover Road Slip Westbound On, A2 Dover Road, Honeywood Road and Honeywood Parkway.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Jubilee Road, Worth, CT14 0DW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Jubilee Road, Worth, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jubilee Road, The Street, A258 Deal Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Markland Road, Dover, CT17 9LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Markland Road, Dover, on or after 1st September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 31 to outside number 33, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Markland Road, Reading Road, Elms Vale Road, Church Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Molland Lane, Ash, CT3 2JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Molland Lane, Ash, on or after 16th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham, CT14 9LN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Elder Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mongeham Road, Northbourne Road, Willow Road, Beacon Hill, Sutton Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Roman Road, Dover (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Roman Road, Dover, on or after 1st September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Greenacre, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Leonards Road, Deal, CT14 9AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Leonards Road, Deal, on or after 2nd September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 35, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Leonards Road, B2056 Manor Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Northbourne, CT14 0LN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Northbourne, on or after 15th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Vine Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Northbourne Road, Willow Road, Deal Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
