Dagenham - Temporary Road Closure Due To Sewer Cover Works

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Oval Road South, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 - Notice Of Intent

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway; The London Borough Of Barking and Dagenham intend to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 21 September 2026. The works expected for:
- Sewer cover and frame replacement in the carriageway, to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 21 September 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Oval Road South, both sides, from a point 1 metre east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 162 and 164 Oval Road South to a point 0.5 metres west of the extended common boundary of Nos. 172 and 174 Oval Road South.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Oval Road South, both sides, from its junction with Second Avenue to a point 1 metre east of the extended common boundary of Nos. 162 and 164 Oval Road South.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Oval Road South, both sides, from its junction with Beam Avenue to a point 0.5 metres west of the extended common boundary of Nos. 172 and 174 Oval Road South.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Third Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Centre Road to its junction with Oval Road South.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Third Avenue, Centre Road, Oval Road North and Oval Road South.
- Via Third Avenue, Centre Road, Second Avenue, Oval Road South and Vice Versa.
- Via Third Avenue, Centre Road, Beam Avenue, Oval Road South and Vice Versa.
