Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

Caesar Avenue, Kingsnorth, TN23 3QW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Caesar Avenue, Kingsnorth from 1st September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between number 60 Caesar Avenue and number 86 Lucilla Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caesar Avenue, Lucilla Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Chequer Tree Farm Road, Mersham, TN25 7HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Chequer Tree Farm Road, Mersham from 16th September 2026 with estimated completion by 17th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 80m north of The Nook, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chequer Tree Farm Road, Frith Road, Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Christchurch Road, Ashford, TN23 7ST (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow meter reading works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Christchurch Road, Ashford from 2nd September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 24 and 26, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Christchurch Road, Jemmett Road, Bond Road, Beaver Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Lane, Kenardington, TN26 2NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Kenardington from 18th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Appledore Road heading southwards 1150m towards the junction with Snargate Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Snargate Road, Kenardington Road, Appledore Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Mystole Lane, Chilham, CT4 8EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mystole Lane, Chilham from 18th September 2026 with estimated completion by 21st September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 10m southeast of Chilham Road level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mystole Lane, A28 Canterbury Road, Shalmsford Street, Bobbin Lodge Hill, Thruxted Lane and Pickleden Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Ox Lane, Tenterden, TN30 6NH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow water meter replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ox Lane, Tenterden from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 16th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Martins, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ox Lane, Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Park Lane, Great Chart, TN26 1JZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Park Lane, Great Chart from 14th September 2026 with estimated completion by 15th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 60m south of Park Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Park Lane, Vitters Oak Lane, Goldwell Lane, Etchden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Park Street, Ashford, TN24 8LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow demolition works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Park Street, Ashford from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 18th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Edinburgh Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pluckley Road, Bethersden, TN26 3EG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pluckley Road, Bethersden from 4th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Willows, from the junction with Tuesnoad Lane heading north east for approximately 1320m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, End Of Pluckley Road At River Beult To Chambers Green Road, Station Approach, Chambers Green Road, Smarden Road, Rose Farm Road, The Pinnock, Bell Lane, Smarden Bell Road, Burnthouse Lane, Biddenden Road, Bethersden Road, Bull Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Forge Hill, Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Romden Road, Smarden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Romden Road, Smarden from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 26th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Dorking Lane heading 20m past the cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Romden Road, Pluckley Road, The Street, Cage Lane, Bethersden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sandhurst Lane, Rolvenden, TN17 4PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sandhurst Lane, Rolvenden from 17th September 2026 with estimated completion by 18th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite the track to Copens House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandhurst Lane, B2086 Benenden Road, Rolvenden Road, Dingleden, Dingleden Farm Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford, TN25 4NT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sandyhurst Lane, Ashford from 14th September 2026 with estimated completion by 15th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 99 and Little Sandhurst, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandyhurst Lane, A20 Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout, Cycle Track East Of Maidstone Road, Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road, A251 Faversham Road, Sandyhurst Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Hothfield, TN26 1EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Hothfield from 1st September 2026, with estimated completion by 3rd September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Garden House, Bethersden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, Surrenden Road, Pluckley Road, Bethersden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Vicarage Lane, Charing.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Vicarage Lane, Charing from 4th September 2026 with estimated completion by 7th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 125m north of Churchwood House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Hill, Egerton Road, Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
