LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH

(NOTE: This notice is about continuing on a permanent basis the prohibition on motor vehicles during certain times of the day in certain lengths of streets that were introduced under an Experimental Traffic Management Order.)

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, on 24 August 2026 made the Lambeth (Moving Traffic Restrictions) (Amendment No. 17) Order 2026 under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, so as to amend the Lambeth (Moving Traffic Restrictions) Order 2024 and continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 2025.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to:

a. prohibit motor vehicles, except for LS26, LS41 or LS48 permit holders, from entering the lengths of roads specified in the schedules this Notice during certain times of the day; 

b. specify that:

i. residents and employees of businesses and organisations located at premises within or accessible only from the lengths of roads specified in schedule 1 to this Notice, and disabled persons’ badge holders who have a bona fide reason to enter those lengths of roads, may, by application to the Council, apply for a LS26 permit; 

ii. residents and employees of businesses and organisations located at premises within or accessible only from the lengths of roads specified in schedule 2 to this Notice, and disabled persons’ badge holders who have a LS41 fide reason to enter those lengths of roads, may, by application to the Council, apply for a LS41 permit; 

iii. residents and employees of businesses and organisations located at premises within or accessible only from the lengths of roads specified in schedule 3 to this Notice, and disabled persons’ badge holders who have a bona fide reason to enter those lengths of roads, may, by application to the Council, apply for a LS48 permit; 

iv. the prohibition in the lengths of the streets listed in Schedule 1 to this notice will operate between the hours of 8.30 am to 9.15 am and 3.00 pm to 3.45 pm Monday to Friday;

v. the prohibition in the lengths of the streets listed in Schedule 2 to this notice will operate between the hours of 8.00 am to 9.15 am and between 2.45 pm to 3.45 pm Monday to Friday;

vi. the prohibition in the lengths of the streets listed in Schedule 3 to this notice will operate between the hours of 8.15 am to 9.15 am and 2.45 pm to 3.45 pm Monday to Friday;

vii. any vehicle that is already in those roads or length of roads listed specified above before the pedestrian and cycle zone commences will be permitted to leave.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 31 August 2026, of a map of the relevant area and of the relevant Order of 2024 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) can be inspected at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays). 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

Mount Ephraim Road, from the junction of Woodfield Avenue to the junction of De Mountfort Road; Woodfield Avenue, from the junction of Mount Ephraim Road and Woodfield Grove. 

Schedule 2
Clarence Avenue, between its junctions with King's Avenue and Rathmell Drive; Clarence Crecent, from the junction of Clarence Avenue and Fennings Road; Crescent Lane between the junction of Elms Crescent and Kings Avenue; Park Hill, between its junctions with West Road and Clarence Avenue; Rodenhurst Road, from the junction with Park Hill to the junction with Hambalt Road.
