TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS – UPPER MARSH
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable bridge investigation works, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth intends to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily:
(a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the length of Upper Marsh which lies between its junction with Westminster Bridge Road and the south western boundary of the railway bridge;
(b) suspend the one-way traffic system in the length Upper Marsh that lies between Beckett House and south-western boundary of the railway bridge.
2. The alternative route for affected vehicles would be available via Royal Street, Centaur Road, Hercules Road, Kennington Road and Westminster Bridge Road.
3. The Order would come into force on 22 September 2026 and continue in force for a maximum duration of 1 month, to allow for contingencies, or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. In practice, it is anticipated that the works would take 1 night (01:00 a.m. to 03:00 a.m.) to complete.
