The above order made by Cornwall Council on 4th August 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will, if confirmed, divert a length of Public Footpath Number 58 in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 150 metres west of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SW 81886/62125 then continuing in a north then north-easterly direction for a 74 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 128 metres north-west of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81924/62180 as well as a length of Public Footpath Number 58 in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 175 metres north-north-east of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82069/62291 then continuing in a north-easterly direction for 34 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 198 metres north-north-east of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82098/62307 and another length of Public Footpath Number 58 in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 75 metres west of 'Trevelga Court' at OSGR SW 82207/62346 then continuing in a north-easterly then northerly then easterly direction for a 206 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 102 metres north-north-east of 'Trevelga Court' at OSGR SW 82319/62456 as well as a length of Public Footpath Number 58 in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 189 metres east-north-east of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82195/62223 then continuing in a east-south-easterly direction for 10 metres terminating short of its junction with Unclassified Road (U6091) 197 metres east-north-east of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82205/62221 and another length of Public Footpath Number 58 in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 87 metres west of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81952/62100 then continuing in a south-westerly then northerly direction for 94 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 162 metres west-south-west of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81886/62054 to a revised line commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 150 metres west of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81886/62125 then continuing in a north-north-easterly direction for 69 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 128 metres north-west of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81924/62180 as well as a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 175 metres north-north-east of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82069/62291 then continuing in a generally easterly then northerly direction for 51 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 198 metres north-north-east of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82098/62307 and another length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 75 metres west of 'Trevelga Court' at OSGR SW 82207/62346 then continuing in a north-north-easterly then northerly then easterly direction for 196 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 102 metres north-north-east of 'Trevelga Court' at OSGR SW 82319/62456 as well as a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 189 metres east-north-east of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82195/62223 then continuing in a east-north-easterly then south-easterly direction for 33 metres terminating at its junction with Unclassified Road (U6091) 212 metres east-north-east of'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 82220/62227 as well as a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Newquay commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 87 metres west of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81952/62100 then continuing in a south-westerly then westerly then south-westerly direction for 85 metres terminating at its junction with part of Footpath 58 Newquay to be retained 162 metres west-south-west of 'Whitewater, Narrowcliff' at OSGR SW 81886/62054. 

A copy of the order and order map may be downloaded from Cornwall Council's website at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/public-path-orders/made-public-path-orders/ and have also been placed and may be seen free of charge at Newquay Library and Information Service, Marcus Hill, Newquay, TR7 1BD open at 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Alternatively copies of the order and order map may be obtained free of charge from proworders@cornwall.gov.uk

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Public Rights of Way Officer at Public Rights of Way, Cornwall Council, New County Hall, TR1 3AY or by email to proworders@cornwall.gov.uk. (quoting reference HAD 322) no later than 23 September 2026. 

Please state the grounds on which they are made. 

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, then Cornwall Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. 

If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
