Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4090 GOSFORTH, U4095 BOOT AND U4032 CLEATOR) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U4090 Gosforth, from its junction with the A595, extending in an overall easterly direction for approx. 2.5km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4090, C4026, Wasdale Road, and the A595.

Duration: From 21 September 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref: TTROC/18994)

2. U4095 Boot, from its junction with the C4026, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 4.9km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U4059, U5001, U5033, C5008, and C4026.

Duration: From 28 September 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROC/19628)

3. U4032 Cleator, from its junction with the C4017, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 2.4km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U4032, Briscoe Road, East Road, A595, A5086, Trumpet Terrace, Trumpet Road, and C4017.

Duration: From 12 October 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/19547)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
