What is happening?
CITY OF STOKE-ON-TRENT (SANDON PRIMARY - SCHOOL STREETS SCHEME) (ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.5) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER, 2025 (Modification No1) 2026
Notice is hereby given that Stoke on Trent City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), proposes a modification to the above order in respect to the extents of the school street operating outside Sandon Primary School and introduce waiting restricions on Normacot Grange Road.
This Order was originally made on 06 August 2025 and became operational on 3rd September 2026.
The modificationswill be to -
(i) extend the existing School Street Scheme to include Anson Road, Stockfield Road and Loxley Place which will prohibit vehicular access Mon-Fri 8.15am- 9.15am And2.45pm- 4pm with the exception of authorised vehicles.
(ii) Introduce No Waiting at any time at the following locations;
a)Dendale Close (both sides) & Kingsdale Close(both sides) - From Normacot Grange Road for 10 metres
b)Normacot Grange Road; (North Side) - between points 25m and 68m east of Stockfield Road (South Side) - (i)From Dentdale Close to Kingsdale Close, (ii) from Dentdale Close for 10m westerly, (iii) from Kingsdale Close for 12m easterly.
From 26th August 2026 a copy of this Notice, a plan illustrating the extended proposals, and a copy of the Order and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected online at: https://stoke.traffweb.app/ The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from 2nd September 2026 or if the Order is subsequently varied by another Order(under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or modified pursuant to sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Act), from the coming into operation of those variations or modifications (whichever are the latest), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation.
Any such objection must be in writing, quoting reference DF/TM/ETRO/5/2025- 2026mod1-2026mod and must give the grounds on which it is made and must be emailed to: traffic. orders@stoke.gov.uk or in made in writing to Traffic Section, Directorate of Housing, Regeneration & Operations, Civic Centre, Glebe Street, Stoke, ST4 1HH.
