Hove - Temporary Cycle Lane Closure Due To Electricity Supply Installation

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – WESTERN ESPLANADE, HOVE

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect: -

(a) The temporary closure of the cycle lane on Western Esplanade, Hove from the western edge of the King Alfred Leisure Centre building to the junction of Hove Street, a distance of approximately 200 metres.

(b) For the duration of this closure it will be necessary to make the adjacent footway a shared space for pedestrians and cycles

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out the Installation of a new electricity supply.

3. This Order comes into force on 7 September 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 14 October 2026.
