Introduction Of Car Club Bays And Loading Bays In Rathbone Street, E16 - The Newham (Parking Places) (Car Clubs) (No. 1, 2007) - (Amendment No. 29) Order 2026 - The Newham (Loading Bays) (No. 2) Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The London Borough of Newham ("the Council") on 24 August 2026 made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be:
(a) to introduce Car Club only parking bays operating 24 hours in the layby lying on the west side of Rathbone Street, E16, from a point 17.57 metres south of a point opposite the northern flank wall of No. 84 Rathbone Street, extending southwards for a distance of 24 metres and comprising of 4 bays reserved for the parking only of vehicles that display a valid car club permit; and
(b) to introduce loading bays operating 24 hours, having a maximum stay of 20 minutes with no return to the same parking place for a period of one hour in Rathbone Street, E16:
(i) in the layby area on the west side, from a point 41.57 metres south of a point opposite the northern flank wall of No. 84 Rathbone Street, extending southwards for a distance of 17.18 metres; and
(ii) in the layby area on the west side, from a point 49.88 metres north of the northern flank wall of No. 84 Rathbone Street, extending northwards for a distance of 20.44 metres.
3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 1 September 2026 and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection by appointment during normal office hours, at: Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road, E16 2QU, by telephoning 020 3373 6415, or by emailing: traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
