What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders and will commence when the appropriate signs are erected. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.

WOOD STREET, LAND SOCIETY LANE, EARL SHILTON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING & LOADING AT ANY TIME
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING BAYS ORDER 2026
It is expected that the Order will come into force on 24/09/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months.
The works may last for up to 2 days to allow BT Openreach & their contractors to undertake installation of a new pole & other associated works.

The works may last for up to 2 weeks to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake various highways drainage & other associated works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Fenn Lns, Wharf Ln, Bosworth Rd, Ambion Ln, Dadlington Rd & vice versa.

The proposed diversion route will be via: Elmesthorpe Ln, Elmdale Rd, Coronation Rd, Edinburgh Rd, Balmoral Rd, Doctors Flds, Hinckley Rd, Carrs Hill & vice versa.

EXTENSION NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by the Leicestershire County Council on 05/03/2026 and which came into effect on 21/03/2026 will be continued in force until 20/03/2028 or until the works have been completed. 

The effect of the Order is to continue to allow for the closure of that length of footpath as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice, for public safety to allow Bloor Homes & their contractors to continue undertaking development works.

Footpath T53, Hinckley from where it joins the Normandy Wy cycle track & footpath on the opposite side of the road to the Jct with Footpath U6.
