What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (MOUNT COURT BIRTLEY - FOOTPATH CLOSURE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the footpath between Mount Court and Aspen Close:-
a. from 85 Mount Court in a northeasterly direction for 40 metres,
b. from 95 Mount Court in a northerly direction for 42 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate works on behalf of M Group Telecoms. The Order will come into force on 14 September 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 18 September 2026. During the works all pedestrians (except operatives associated with the works and emergency service operatives on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above footpath until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated
