What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.  
TEMPORARY EASTBOUND ONLY ROAD CLOSURE on the following road:   Commercial Road (A36) Redbridge Causeway, Totton & Eling, New Forest between its junction with Commercial Road (A36) access road east of McDonalds carpark and its junction with Redbridge Causeway    
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Salisbury Road, A326, A36, Romsey Road (A3090) Pauncefoot Hill, Mainstone, Bypass Road, Southampton Road (A27), A3057, Romsey Road (A3057)  
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of High Street between its junction with Station Road South and its junction with Totton By-pass  
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: High Street, Junction Road, Maynard Road, Ringwood Road, Salisbury Road, A326, A36, Romsey Road (A3090) Pauncefoot Hill, Mainstone, Bypass Road, Southampton Road (A27), A3057, Romsey Road (A3057)  
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION - on the following roads: A336 Ringwood Road, A36 Ringwood Road, C173 junction, Maynard Road, Rumbridge Street  
DURATION OF ORDER: from 9th September 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner.  (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the restrictions will be required for no longer than 2 days, working between 20:00-06:00)  
The temporary restrictions have been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Balfour Beatty on behalf of Southampton City Council. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order, please contact: Nkemdilim.ozoani@balfourbeatty.com  
Balfour Beatty will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
