Disabled Persons’ Parking Places (No.1) Order 2026

On 17 August 2026, South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order, thereby introducing new regulated parking bays for the sole use of ‘blue’ badge holders on Main Street, Carnwath; Aikman Place, Aillort Place, Alder Crescent, Baird Hill, Belmont Drive, Beech Grove, Blacklands Road, Bosfield Road, Bruce Place, Calderglen Road, Canberra Drive, Carnoustie Crescent, Catrine, Coolgardie Place, Deveron Road, Dicks Park, Dunblane Drive, Drummond Hill, Dryburgh Hill, Edmonton Terrace, Elm Place, Falkland Drive, Falkland Park, Flinders Place, Glamis Drive, Glen Bervie, Glen Cannich, Glen Isla, Glen Urquhart, Kirktonholme Road, Le Froy Gardens, Leeward Circle, Livingstone Drive, Loch Assynt, Mallard Crescent, Maxwellton Road, Milford , Mull, Mungo Park, Quebec Drive, Riccarton, Slessor Drive, Simpson Drive, Somerville Drive, Swaledale, Talbot, Tasman Drive, Telford Road, The Murray Road, Troon Court, Warwick, Wardlaw Crescent, Westwood Hill and Whitehills Drive, all East Kilbride; Dalziel Street and Scott Grove, both Hamilton; and Hill Street, Larkhall.

The Order which comes into operation on 5 October 2026, was advertised in the Hamilton Advertiser, East Kilbride News and Lanark and Carluke Advertiser in the weeks beginning 16 February 2026. The effect of the order is as previously stated.

A copy of the Order and a map relative thereto are available for inspection on the council’s website.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by 28 September 2026, apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
