What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC LAYBY IN FRONT
OF EASTFIELD HOUSE, WILBERFOSS

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
layby in front of Eastfield House, Wilberfoss between
both junctions on the A1079 Hull Road commencing
21 September 2026 at 08.00 hours until 2 October
2026 at 18.00 hours to allow for directional drilling
approximately 350m in the carriageway plus service
connection works. The road closure is necessary
to enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within 12 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via A1079 Hull Road, Newton on
Derwent CP, Wilberfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial
Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
