HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau o dan Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu o fewn 7 diwrnod o ddyddiad yr hysbysiad hwn i wneud gorchymyn a fydd yn gwahardd unrhyw gerbyd rhag symud ar hyd Whitstone Road o’i gyffordd â Gibbs Road, Casnewydd. Mae’r llwybr amgen ar hyd Christchurch Road a Gibbs Road, Casnewydd. Y rheswm dros wneud y gorchymyn yw oherwydd gwaith ar y brif bibell nwy. Bydd y gorchymyn arfaethedig yn weithredol o 14 Medi 2026 a bydd yn para am gyfnod o 18 mis neu hyd nes y bydd y gwaith wedi’i gwblhau, os yw’n gynharach. Disgwylir i’r gwaith bara 3 wythnos. NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (WHITSTONE ROAD, NEWPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Whitstone Road from its junction with Gibbs Road, Newport. The alternative route is via Christchurch Road and Gibbs Road, Newport. The reason for making the order is due to gas main works. The proposed order will be operative from 14th September 2026 and will continue in force for a period of 18 months or until works have been completed, if earlier. The anticipated duration of the works is 3 weeks. Pedestrian access will be available at all times and emergency access will be made quickly available.
