What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(ROEHEDGE, LEAM LANE - FOOTPATH CLOSURE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that on 26 August 2026 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the footpath at the front of properties 5 to 11 Roehedge from the gable end of property 5 Roehedge in an easterly direction for 32.5 metres. The Order is required to facilitate works to existing electrical services.
The Order will come into force on 1 September 2026. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 4 September 2026. During the works all pedestrians (except operatives associated with the works and emergency service operatives on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above footpath until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
