(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRCTION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to exceed the speed of 40 MPH over that length of Harbour Lane, Wheelton from a point 414 metres east of its junction with Briers Brow, Wheelton for a distance of 100 metres in an easterly direction.
2. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0900 hours until 1700 hours on Thursday 3rd September 2026 until Friday 4th September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
3. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
4. The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to install ducting for a customer's fibre provision order.
