THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, GRAVESHAM) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT NO.6) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council proposes to make the above-named Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 32, 35, 36, and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to amend the Kent County Council (Various Roads, Gravesham) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2025 as follows:

Introduce ‘Payment Parking 8am-8pm, Maximum Stay 2 hours no return within 1 hour’ restrictions, replacing existing ‘Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6:30pm 2 hours no return within 1 hour’ restrictions in the following locations:

• Crooked Lane – on the southern side, next to the existing disabled bay opposite The Three Daws and alongside The Charter.

• Queen Street – on the western side, next to The Charter.

Introduce ‘Permit Holders Only (A) / Limited Waiting 8am-6:30pm 1 hour no return within 2 hours’ bay, replacing existing ‘Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6:30pm 2 hours no return within 1 hour’ restriction in the following location:

• The Terrace – outside Clarendon Court. On the western side, extend the bay by 20m westerly, replacing existing no waiting and no loading restrictions.

Introduce ‘Disabled Badge Holders only’ restrictions in the following locations:

• Bank Street – on the southern side, next to The Charter.

• New Swan Yard – on the eastern side, next to The Charter.

Introduce ‘Goods vehicle loading only’ bay restriction in the following location:

• Bank Street – on the northern side, next to The Charter.

Introduce ‘no loading at any time’ restrictions, replacing existing ‘no loading Mon-Sat 7:30am-09:30am and 4:30pm-6:30pm’ restrictions in the following locations:

• Bank Street – on both sides, from the pedestrian zone gates to the junction of Queen Street, with the exception of the above proposed ‘Disabled Badge Holders only’ bay and ‘Goods vehicle loading only’ bay.

• Bull Yard – for its entire length.

• Crooked Lane – between the two ‘Payment Parking 8am-8pm, Maximum Stay 2 hours no return within 1 hour’ bays on the southern side, on the northern side from the existing bus stop to the pedestrian crossing and on the southern side, next to The Charter, between the proposed ‘Payment Parking 8am-8pm, Maximum Stay 2 hours no return within 1 hour’ bay ant the existing Pedestrian Crossing.

• Harmer Street – on both sides, from the junction with The Terrace to the existing pedestrian crossing.

• High Street – on both sides, from the pedestrian zone gates to the junction of West Street.

• Horn Yard – for its entire length.

• New Swan Yard – on both sides. On the western side, for a distance of 10m from the junction with Bank Street, outside the Gravesend Medical Centre and on the eastern side, from the junction of Bank Street to the proposed ‘Disabled Badge Holders only’ bay.

• Queen Street – from the proposed ‘Payment Parking’ bay to the junction of Bank Street, on the western side.

• Royal Pier Road – from the junction with The Terrace to the end of the existing ‘no waiting at any time’ restriction on the western side.

• The Terrace – on the northern side from the existing pedestrian crossing to the proposed extended bay, across the entrance to Clarendon Court, at the junction with Royal Pier Road and on the southern side, from the junction with Queen Street to the junction with Harmer Street.

• West Street – on both sides at the junction of Town Pier.

Please note, the map tiles associated with this order are approximate due to an upcoming new road layout.
