Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF ASHFORD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.5) ORDER 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

The effect of the named Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions (DYL means double yellow lines “no waiting at any time” restrictions) on the following length of roads in Kingsnorth and Pluckley, in the Borough of Ashford:-

HEATHFIELD ROAD – DYL – On the south side extend the existing double yellow lines opposite its junction with Hill View for a distance of 8 metres in a westerly direction. MILLBANK ROAD – DYL – On the north side from a point opposite the eastern boundary of 18 Millbank Road for a distance of 7.5 metres in an easterly direction to join up with the existing School Keep Clear markings.

It has been decided to abandon these restrictions and remove them from this amendment. STATION ROAD (OR KNOWN AS END OF PLUCKLEY ROAD AT RIVER BEULT TO CHAMBERS GREEN ROAD) – DYL - (1) On the west side from its junction with Chambers Green Road for a distance 188 metres in a southerly direction. (2) On the east side from a point opposite its junction with Chambers Green Road to its junction with Dering Close. (3) On the east side from its junction with Dering Close for a distance of 94 metres in a southerly direction to join up with the existing double yellow lines.

This order was originally advertised as Amendment 26 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.

The Order was made on 27 August 2026 and its provisions will come into effect on 28 August 2026.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter called “the Act”), and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following Order:-

The effect of the named Order will introduce double yellow lines (DYL) on the following lengths of roads in Darenth, Dartford:-

WILLIAM MUNDY WAY – On both sides from the junction with Victoria Road and Mill Pond Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the River Darent.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025 (AMENDMENT No.3) ORDER 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act‘), the Traffic Management 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

The effect of the named Order will introduce or amend double yellow lines (DYL) no waiting restrictions at any time on the following length of roads in Walmer, Dover:-

SALISBURY ROAD - DYL – On the north east side extend the existing double yellow lines from a point 6 metres west of its entrance to The Beacon School for a distance of 19 metres in a north westerly direction.

The Order was made on 27 August 2026 and its provisions will come into effect on 28 August 2026.

MAIDSTONE AREA

(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2026

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority, in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-

The effect of the named Order is to remove current restrictions and place a no waiting restriction at any time (DYL) on the following length of roads in Maidstone:-

BREWER STREET – DYL – (1) On both sides from its junction with Week Street remove any existing waiting restrictions for a distance of 35 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On south side remove 2.3 metres of SYL and replace with DYLs and join up both sides of DYLs connecting across the carriageway. ST FAITH’S STREET – (1) On both sides from its junction with Week Street remove any existing waiting restrictions for a distance of 14 metres in a south westerly direction. (2) On the north side from a point 7.5 metres east from its junction with Station Road removing the current DYL and replacing with “Permit Holders Only” parking bays for a distance of 13 metres. (3) On the south from the existing disabled persons parking bays place DYLs for a distance of 6.5 metres and then continue across the carriageway to join the existing DYLs on the north side. UNION STREET – (1) On both sides remove all waiting restrictions from its junction with Week Street for a distance of 34 metres in an easterly direction. (2) On the north side increase the DYLs by 2 metres in a westerly direction and then continue across the carriageway to join the existing DYLs on the south side.

(AMENDMENT No.7) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) as amended and all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following order:-

This order intends to prohibit all motor vehicles from access on the following length of road in, Maidstone:-

BREWER STREET – From its junction with Week Street for a distance of 35 metres in an easterly direction.
