Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
AYLSHAM – Red Lion Street from 30m south of its junction with White Hart Street to its junction with Blofields Loke to facilitate duct laying works from 2nd to 4th September 2026 (may continue until 16th October 2026). Alternative route is via: Market Place, Penfold Street, Norwich Road, Burgh Road, Buckenham Road, Sir Williams Lane, Gashouse Hill, White Hart Street, Cromer Road. The works promoter is Openreach.
BEIGHTON – Low Farm Road (also known locally as Acle Road) from its junction with Coxhill Road for 150m eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works from 1st to 2nd September 2026 (may continue until 14th October 2026). FAKENHAM – Valley Way from 11m south of its junction with The Ridings for 40m south-eastwards to facilitate cover replacement works on 1st September 2026 (may continue until 13th October 2026). HONING – C413 Hall Road from 160m southwest of its junction with C416 North Walsham Road for 345m southwards to facilitate pole testing works on 1st September 2026 (may continue until 13th October 2026). HORSHAM AND NEWTON ST. FAITHS – Old Norwich Road from its junction with Crown Road to its junction with Blind Lane to facilitate gas main replacement works from 1st September to 5th October 2026 (may continue until 5th April 2027). Alternative route is via: Blind Lane, West Lane, West Lane Cycleway, Church Street, Crown Road. The works promoter is Cadent.
KNAPTON – Hall Lane from 340m north of its junction with North Walsham Road for 50m northwards to facilitate replacement chamber, cover and frame works from 2nd to 4th September 2026 (may continue until 16th October 2026). CARLETON RODE AND BANHAM – Cherry Tree Road from its junction with B1113 The Turnpike to its junction with Long Lane to facilitate JCB patching trial works from 1st to 4th September 2026 (may continue until 16th October 2026). AYLMERTON – The Street from 138m east of its junction with C301 Church Road for 389m south-eastwards to facilitate overhead cabling works between 08:00 and 18:00 on 24th August 2026 (may continue until 5th October 2026). Alternative route is via: The Street, C293 Park Road, C305 Mill Lane, C301 Church Road. The works promoter is BT.
AYLSHAM – Burgh Road from its junction with Oakfield Road to its junction with Forster Way to facilitate carriageway repair and gulley replacement works from 25th to 26th August 2026 (may continue until 7th October 2026). EDGEFIELD – Church Lane from its junction with Briston Road to its junction with Pecks Lane to facilitate pole test works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 24th August 2026 (may continue until 5th October 2026). FAKENHAM – A) Lancaster Avenue from its junction with Greenway Lane to its junction with Holt Road and B) Jubilee Avenue from its junction with Lancaster Avenue for 10m eastwards to facilitate gas main replacement works from 24th August to 2nd October 2026 (may continue until 2nd April 2027). FELTHORPE – Brands Lane from its junction with Church Lane for 90m southwards to facilitate carriageway repair works on 24th August 2026 (may continue until 5th October 2026). HELLESDON – A) U51126/10 Hellesdon Park Road from its junction with A1067 Drayton High Road for 414m south-westwards and B) U51126/20 Hellesdon Park Road from its junction with U51126/10 Hellesdon Park Road for 130m northwards and C) U51223 Alston Road from its junction with U51126 Hellesdon Park Road for 226m south-westwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, the roads A, B and C will be temporarily closed/restricted (except for pedestrian access) and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Roads A, B, and C shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 24th to 29th August 2026 (may continue until 10th October 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council. NB: The road closures are anticipated to take place between 19:00 and 05:00 for the duration of the works. The parking restriction will be in place 24/7 for the duration of the works.
MORSTON – A) Morston Footpath 3 from 675m east of its junction with The Quay for 329m eastwards and B) Morston Bridleway 1 from its junction with Morston Footpath 3 for 75m south-eastwards to facilitate sea defence works from 24th August to 31st October 2026 (may continue until 23rd February 2027). The Footpath will be closed during phase 1 from 24th August to 25th September 2026, and the Bridleway will be closed during phase 2 from 25th September to 31st October 2026.

NORTH WALSHAM – A) U10325 Hall Lane from its junction with C558 Church Street to its junction with U10322 Marshgate and B) U10327 Lime Tree Road from its junction with U10325 Hall Lane for 10m northwards to facilitate gas main replacement works from 24th August to 2nd October 2026 (may continue until 2nd April 2027). POTTER HEIGHAM – U19058 Church Road from its junction with C406 Station Road to its junction with U19191 Dove House to facilitate carriageway patching works on 25th August 2026 (may continue until 6th October 2026). SOMERTON – C640 Martham Road from 150m north-east of its junction with U69359 Sandy Lane for 290m north-eastwards to facilitate carriageway patching works, the Road will be temporarily subject to a 40mph speed restriction on 26th August 2026 (may continue until 7th October 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
SPROWSTON – U57419 North Walsham Road from its junction with Barkers Lane to its junction with Edwards Road to facilitate HV cable laying works from 24th August to 13th November 2026 (may continue until 13th May 2027). TAVERHAM – The Street from its junction with Sandy Lane for 730m westwards to facilitate carriageway and gulley repair works from 27th to 28th August 2026 (may continue until 9th October 2026). THORPE ST.
