TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (KENSINGTON CHURCH STREET - PROHIBITED RIGHT TURN) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Kensington Church Street prohibited right hand turn into Kensington High Street.
The road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.
The restrictions will come into force from 19.00hrs until 05.00hrs nightly from Monday 7th September 2026 until 05.00hrs on Friday 11th September 2026, with backup dates of Monday 14th September 2026 until Friday 18th September 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Diverted through traffic may use Kensington High Street, Kensington Road, Palace Gate, Gloucester Road, Cromwell Road, Queen's Gate, Kensington Road, Kensington High Street.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
