THE A35 TRUNK ROAD (CHARMOUTH TO TROY TOWN)

(30 MPH, 40 MPH AND 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026 VARIATION ORDER 2026

Notice is given that National Highways Limited (a) proposes to make an Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A35 Trunk Road in Dorset.

The effect of the Order would be to vary the existing order as follows:

i. Article 3(a) is varied by deleting ‘the junction with Berne Lane’ and inserting ‘the junction between Berne Lane and the A35 eastbound’;

ii. Article 3(c) is varied by deleting ’58 metres west’ and inserting ’35 metres east’;

iii. Article 4(a) is varied by deleting ‘Tizzard’s’ and inserting ‘Tizard’s’

A copy of the Order, a plan, and a statement of National Highways reasons for making the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Bridport Library South Street, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 3NY and Dorchester Library, South Walks House Charles, Street, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1EE. They may also be obtained from PABS, National Highways, Brunel House, 930 Hempton Court, Aztec West, Almondsbury, BS32 4SR or by e-mailing info@nationalhighways.co.uk, quoting reference NHSW 02/26.

Anyone wishing to object to the proposed Order should send, not later than 11 September 2026 or within 21 days from the date of first publication of this notice, if that period expires later, a written statement of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to National Highways at the address above, quoting reference NHSW 02/26.
