NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR
TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders:
(STR001400 Sevenhampton Lane, Highworth) This Order is being introduced for INSTALLATION OF WATER SUPPLIES and will impose a prohibition of driving on Sevenhampton Lane adjacent to Ellipsis Farm. Traffic to be diverted via B4000 Shrivenham Road, A361 Swindon Road and A361 Highworth Road. The Order comes into force on the 28 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 28 September and 2 October 2026.
(STR001231 and STR001232 Highworth Road, South Marston) This Order is being introduced for SSE and will impose a prohibition of driving on Highworth Road between South Marston and Sevenhampton. To be done in 2 phases. Traffic to be diverted via B4000 Shrivenham Road, A361 Swindon Road and Highworth Road to Honda Way, A417 to A420, Thornhill Road, Highworth Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 28 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 28 September to 4 November 2026.
(STR001353 Ashington Way, West Swindon) This Order is being introduced for SBC HIGHWAY WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of Ashington Way between Toothill and Asda Roundabout. Traffic to be diverted via Corton Crescent, Whitehill Way, Tewkesbury Way and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 1 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 1 and 30 September 2026.
(STR001353 Curtis Street, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for SSEN and will impose a prohibition of driving on Curtis Street backroad between No’s 2 to 14. Traffic to be diverted via Cromby Street, Eastcott Hill, Eastcott Road, Bath Road, Kingshill Road, Westcott Place, Faringdon Road, Farnsby Street, Curtis Street and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 1 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 1 September and 2 October 2026.
(TR001380 Frankland Road, Swindon) This Order is being introduced for TELECOM WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of Frankland Road at the junction with Great Western Way. Traffic to be diverted via Great Western Way to Spittleborough Roundabout, Great Western Way to Blagrove Roundabout, Ramsden Road and Frankland Road. The Order comes into force on the 14 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place mainly overnight and the road closure to be place on the 14 and 16 September 2026 only.
(STR001385 Chapel Hill, Blunsdon) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Chapel Hill side of Teapot Cottage. Traffic to be diverted via Chapel Hill, Hunts Hill, High Street and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 7 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 7 and 18 September 2026.
(STR001386 Overtown Lane, Wroughton) This Order is introduced for SSEN WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Overtown Lane 200 metres from junction with Overtown. Traffic to be diverted via Overtown Hill Road, Brimble Hill, Burderop and Comet Way. The Order comes into force on the 14 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 7 and 21 September 2026.

(STR001388 Turnball, Chiseldon) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER and will impose prohibition of driving on Turnball at the junction with Slipper Lane. Traffic to be diverted via May’s Lane, New Road, Hodson Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 7 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 7 September 2026 only.
(STR001399 Magic Roundabout, Swindon) This Order is introduced for VODAPHONE WORKS and will impose prohibition of left turn from County Road onto the Magic Roundabout and closure of the footway east side of Shrivenham Road. Diversions to be put in place for both vehicles and Pedestrians via the Magic Roundabout.
(STR001389 Bakers Road, Wroughton) The Order comes into force on the 2 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 2 and 7 September 2026. This Order is introduced for SSEN WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Bakers Road between The Pitchens and Woodham House. Traffic to be diverted via Marlborough Road, Devizes Road, Priors Hill and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 8 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 8 and 10 September 2026.
(STR001410 Old Shaw Lane, Swindon) This Order is introduced for VIRGIN MEDIA WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Old Shaw Lane at the junction with The Elms. Traffic to be diverted via Old Shaw Lane, Roughmoor Way, Sandacre Road and The Elms. The Order comes into force on the 16 September 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 16 and 18 September 2026.
