Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Closures and 30mph Speed Restrictions for Utility and Construction Works

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) A350 (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Station Road to its junction with Fore Street.

B) Alfred Street (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Bitham Mill to its junction with Market Place to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out sewer cleaning and associated works. Alternative route A via A350 (unaffected length) – A36 – A361 – C234 – C227 – A363 – A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route B via B3098 – Bitham Park – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 for 1 day and then again on 27 September 2026 between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. C) B3105 (Part), Trowbridge and West Ashton; from its roundabout junction with Leap Gate for a distance of approximately 280m in a south easterly direction to enable Hope& Clay Construction Ltd to carry out S50 & S278 works for new site entrance including new island, construction and final surfacing. Alternative route via B3105 (unaffected length) – A350 – A363 – A361 – C49 and vice versa. D) Prospect Square (Part), Westbury; from its property known as No.39 Prospect Square to its property known as No.33 Prospect Square to enable Openreach to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via Prospect Square (unaffected length) – Bratton Road – Prospect Square (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. E) Ramscliff, West Lavington; from its junction with Stibb Hill for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out install 1 new box and other associated works. No alternative route is available. F) B3414 (Part), Warminster; from its junction with Portway to its property known as No.41 High Street to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via B3414 (unaffected length) – C360 – B3414 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night and then again on 20 September 2026 between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

H) Brook Street (Part), Warminster; from its junction with South Street to its property known as No.55 Brook Street to enable Openreach to carry out clear blockage and associated works. Alternative route via Brook Street (unaffected length) – Fore Street – C360 – West Parade – Pound Street – Brook Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 3 days. This Order will come into operation on 24 August 2026 and the closure will be required until 29 August 2026 and then again on 31 August 2026 until 07 September 2026. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 until 28 August 2026. Orders A) to M) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction on the following length of road:

A) Westlands Lane (Part), Melksham Without; from its junction with B3353 for a distance of approximately 100m in an easterly direction.

B) B3353 (Part), Melksham Without; from its junction with Top Lane for a distance of approximately 350m in a northerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out ducting and other associated works.

The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This speed limit restriction will come into operation on 14 September 2026 and will be required until 18 September 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. This Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026 and the closure will be required until 25 September 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 06 months.
