What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL

GUISBOROUGH TOWN CENTRE 20 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION AND ONE WAY ORDER 2025

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 and impose one way traffic on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2.

The Order will come into operation on 30.9.26.
A copy of it may be examined at the address below between the hours of 11am and 2.00pm Monday to Friday or at Permanent highway notices – Redcar and Cleveland (redcar-cleveland.gov.uk)

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to it, you may, within 6 weeks from 24.8.26 apply to the High Court for that purpose.

SCHEDULE 1
BAKEHOUSE SQUARE Entire Length; BOW STREET From a point 10 metres south of its junction with Fountain Street to its northern extent; 

CHALONER MEWS Entire Length; CHALONER STREET Entire Length;  

CHAPEL STREET Entire Length; CHURCH STREET From its junction with Westgate/Bow Street for a distance of 140 metres in a north easterly direction;

FOUNTAIN STREET From its junction with Chaloner Street to its junction with Bow Street; WESTGATE From a point 60 metres west of its junction with New Road to its eastern extent.

SCHEDULE 2
CHALONER STREET from its junction with Fountain Street, in a northerly direction to its junction with Westgate; FOUNTAIN STREET from its junction with Walton Terrace, in an easterly direction to its junction with Chaloner Street.
