TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Shirley Avenue (8am - 4pm) between its junction with Shirley Road and St James Road.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for carriageway repairs.
3. The alternative route will be via St James Road, Janson Road, Shirley Road.
4. The Order will come into force on 7th September 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be completed by 7th September 2026.
