What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A5087, HILL FALL, ULVERSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the A5087, Hill Fall, Ulverston, from its junction with Lightburn Avenue, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 140 metres.
A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of A5087, County Road (A590), Victoria Road and Park Road.

The Order will come into operation on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
