What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (STONE DYKE ROAD, ROOSE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Stone Dyke Lane, from its junction with Leece Lane extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 150 metres. A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via Leece Lane, A5087 Rampside Road and North Row.

The Order will come into operation on 7th September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 24 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
