(B5248 CHURCH ROAD, LEYLAND, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B5248 Church Road, Leyland from its junction with B5254 St Andrews Way, Leyland for a distance of 150 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 2300 hours until 0600 hours on Monday 7th September 2026 until Friday 11th September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B5248 Church Road - B5254 St Andrews Way - B5254 Towngate - B5256 King Street - B5256 Turpin Green Lane - B5254 Hough Lane - B5254 Churchill Way - B5256 Golden Hill Lane - B5256 Longmeanygate - B5253 Schleswig Way – Leyland Way - B5248 Fox Lane.
B5248 Fox Lane - B5248 Leyland Lane - B5248 Slater Lane - B5248 Mill Street - B5248 Dunkirk Lane - B5253 Schleswig Way - B5256 Longmeanygate - B5256 Golden Hill Lane - B5254 Churchill Way - B5254 Hough Lane - B5256 Turpin Green Lane - B5256 King Street - B5254 Towngate - B5254 St Andrews Way.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavation works to be carried out to rebuild chamber in the carriageway.
