THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0602006 PRESTON, PRESTON CITY, FP0606005 GRIMSARGH, PRESTON CITY AND FP0602005 PRESTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 24th September, 2026, remaining in force until the 24th March, 2027, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over those lengths of the Public Footpaths indicated below:-
Public Footpath FP0602006 Preston, at the rear of No. 12 Roman Way on Redscar Industrial Estate from Point A (358320,432920) in a generally easterly direction for approximately 398 metres to Point B (358612,433049). Then continuing with FP0606005 Grimsargh, Preston at Point B (358612,433049) in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 458 metres to Point C (358949,433338) near to Grimsargh Solar Farm.
Public Footpath FP0602005 Preston, at the rear of No. 71A – 71B Roman Way on Redscar Industrial Estate from Point D (358628,432519) in a generally easterly direction for approximately 485m to Point E (359090,432470) where the footpath meets Tun Brook.
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in this order shall apply to emergency service vehicles, public rights of way officers of the County Council on foot or to those undertaking any necessary works.
