Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 (1) Extension to the Surrey County Council Claygate Lane (D6815) Thames Ditton
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025
“The Surrey County Council Claygate Lane (D6815) Thames Ditton Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025”, which was made under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(B) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that works were being or proposed to be executed on, or near, the abovementioned road and came into operation on 25 August 2025 was due to expire on 25 August 2026 and which prohibited vehicles from waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on the south eastbound carriageway Claygate Lane (D6815) Thames Ditton as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between No.08 and No.10 Claygate Lane to a point in line with the common boundary between No.14 and No.16 Claygate Lane has been extended by Surrey County Council until 23 January 2027. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable vehicles to turn safely in and out of site location opposite for, or on behalf of Trident Property Construction Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the additional 6-month period operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commenced on 25 August 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Princes Road (D3888) Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2026
On 19 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles in that length of both sides of the carriageway of Princes Road (D3888) Weybridge as extends from its junction with (A317) Queens Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “St Michaels Court”. This Order is required to enable Kori Construction to facilitate a safe working zone, enabling HGVs to turn in and out of the works area safely and because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out as soon as possible, between the hours of 7.30am and 5pm, within the 17-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 24 August 2026 and continues in force the provisions imposed by “The Surrey County Council
Princes Road (D3888) Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
Notice 2026” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 04 August 2026. This temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
On 19 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green as extends from its junction with (D7007) Middle Hill to its junction with the access to the property known as “Oaklands”.
Alternative Route: Tite Hill, (A30) Egham Hill, and Middle Hill, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks, between the hours of 7am and 6pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, will be via the diversion route, this includes access by emergency service vehicles, access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026 On 19 August 2026
Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Guildford Road (A320) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (X6280) Cross Lane to its junction with (C129) Brox Road.
Alternative Route: (A320) Guildford Road, (A320) Chertsey Road, (A245) Six Crossroads Roundabout, (A245) Shores Road, (A3046) Chobham Road, (A3046) Station Road, (A3046) High Street, (A319) High Street, (A319) Chertsey Road, and (A319) Chobham Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is to facilitate lining work to hatch centre of carriageway and/ or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 01 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Shere Hill Climb, Charity Car Parade C45 Staple Lane, East Clandon (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
On 19 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along the entire length of C45 Staple Lane, East Clandon, that extends from its junction with A246 Epsom Road, to its junction with D259 Combe Lane, such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading or driving of horses or any other animals. The Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable the holding of a charity car parade namely the “Shere Hill Climb” on the length of Staple Lane described above.
The temporary prohibition specified above will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the said parade (including those used for traffic management purposes), or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. The Council are satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act, that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. Access for pedestrians; and dismounted cyclists will be maintained under the direction of a marshal. Access for residents will be maintained under the direction of a marshal from the southern end of the temporary closure. Vehicular traffic will be diverted via A246 Epsom Road, A25 Epsom Road, A25 Shere Road and C45 Combe Lane. The Order will come into effect on 06 September 2026, for a period of 1 day and is anticipated to apply from 6am until 6pm but the prohibitions will only be operative while the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

D3040 Guildford Street, Chertsey Temporary Suspension of One Way Traffic Order 2026 On 19 August 2026
Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to suspend the “Borough of Runnymede (Guildford Street Chertsey) One-Way Traffic and Prohibition of Left/Right Turns Order 1980” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to carry out water mains connection and/or maintenance and/or associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm within 5 days of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary suspension which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents, businesses and emergency services will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Clockwise – Guildford Street, London Street and Heriot Road. Anti-clockwise – Guildford Street, Heriot Road and London Street.
Moon Hall Road (D222) Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 14 August 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Moon Hall Road (D222) Ewhurst.
Alternative route – Pitch Hill and Peaslake Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 September 2026 for 3 days between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained either side of but no through the works site. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Priory Green (D3278) Staines-upon-Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 202
On 14 August 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles with the maximum gross weight which exceeds 3 tonnes to enter or proceed in that length of Priory Green (D3278) Staines-Upon-Thames as extends from its junction with Manor Place Access Road (X7047) to its junction with Chestnut Manor Close (D32379).
There is no alternative route. This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate culvert strengthening works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 31 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The prohibition will not apply in relation to vehicles requiring access to premises or land in or adjacent to the said road, vehicles used by the emergency services or for the purposes of essential services, works and maintenance, and vehicles proceeding in accordance with directions given by Surrey Police, when requiring access to the said lengths of roads.
D3042 Ford Road, Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D3042 Ford Road, Chertsey that extends alongside the north-western property boundary of “St. John Ambulance, Ford Road”, and for a distance of 10m either side. 2. Suspend “The Surrey County Council D3042 Ford Road, Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable UK Power Networks to install cabling and/or carry out maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 06 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via a designated walkway. There is no applicable vehicular alternative route however access to residences and businesses, including access for emergency services to such properties, will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives by means of road plates. D6363 Station Path, Staines Upon Thames Temporary Closure Order 2026 Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D6363 Station Path, Staines Upon Thames. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out footway slurry and/or resurfacing works and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 10 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated may be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access between A308 High Street and X7064 Station Approach (Private Road) will be maintained at all times for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists via the footway to A308 High Street, C248 Kingston Road and D3281 George Street. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. D4016 Annandale Road, Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026 Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D4016 Annandale Road, Guildford. This Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains replacement and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 11.59pm, within 5 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each, day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the alternative route:- Farnham Road, Wherwell Road and Wodeland Avenue.
Grantley Avenue (D698) Wonersh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Grantley Avenue (D698) Wonersh.
Alternative Route – Mellersh Hill Road; and The Drive, or this same route in reverse; and (b) suspend the “Surrey County Council Grantley Avenue (D698) Wonersh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” in its entirety. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 14 September 2026 is required to facilitate gas mains replacement and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Clancy within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 3 weeks between the hours of 8am and Midnight. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for Residents within the closure area, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site, all other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Woodlands Road (D166) Hambledon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Woodlands Road (D166) Hambledon as extends from its junction with (X166) Beech Hill to its junction with Public Bridleway No. 181, Hambledon. Alternative Route – Woodlands Road; Malthouse Lane; The Cricket Green; Vann Lane; and Woodlands Road or this same route in reverse. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 16 September 2026 is required to facilitate carriageway damage rectification works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Thames Water within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 2 days between the hours of 7.30pm and 11.59pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Hythe Park Road (D1266) Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1), 14(5) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-
1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hythe Park Road (D1266) Egham as extends from its junction with Thorpe Lea Road (B3376) to a point 10 metres west of this junction; and
2. Suspend “The Urban District of Egham (Various Roads) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1972” to allow Hythe Park Road, Roundway and Glebe Road to be used as a diversion route. Alternative route – Hythe Park Road, Roundway, Glebe Road and B3376 (Thorpe Lea Road), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable M Group to facilitate media works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 15 September 2026 for 2 days between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Guildford-Godalming By-Pass (D90) Shackleford and Milford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Guildford-Godalming By-Pass (D90) Shackleford and Milford, as extends from Lower Eashing to the southbound exit slip road from the A3 at Milford Interchange.
Alternative route – Lower Eashing, The Hollow, Eashing Lane and A283 (Guildford Road), or this route in reverse. This Order is required to enable EE to facilitate the installation of mobile antenna and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 September 2026 for 5 nights between the hours of 8.00pm and 6.00am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Ockham Road South (B2039) East Horsley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Ockham Road South (B2039) East Horsley as extends from its junction with Forest Road (C42) to a point 175 metres south of this junction. Alternative route – A246 (Guildford Road), The Street, Effingham Common Road and Howard Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate lining works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 September 2026 for 2 nights between the hours of 8.00pm and 5.00am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Holmbury Road (D276) Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Holmbury Road (D276) Ewhurst which extends from its junction with Radnor Road to its junction with the access road leading to Holmbury House/ Mullard Space Science Laboratory.
This Order is required to enable Treeline to carry out tree and/or vegetation works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9.30am and 2pm, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be marshalled through.
Alternative Route – Holmbury Road, Cophurst Lane, Ockley Road, Cotton Row, Horsham Road, Pitland Street, Holmbury Hill Road, Holmbury Road (vice versa).

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2) Public Bridleway 228 (Chiddingfold) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 20 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway 228 (Chiddingfold) which extends for 245 metres from its junction with Pook Hill and West End Lane (Grid ref: 494278 134479) to its junction with Public Footpath 228a (Chiddingfold). The order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the bridleway bank subsiding.
The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 26 August 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required. The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected. There is no suggested alternative route on public rights of way.
“The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 228 (Chiddingfold) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made by the county council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
