What is happening?
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES
(Prescribed Route) (Willow Way) Order 2026 - Willow Way, Twickenham - (Reference 25/042)
1. The Council of The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, on 19 August 2026 made the above Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order will come into force on 24 August 2026.
2. The effect of the Prescribed Routes Order is to continue in force indefinitely a restricted vehicle access point in Willow Way at its junction with Bye Ways and River Way. The restriction will operate between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive for north-eastbound vehicle movements. The restriction will not apply to residents who are eligible for an exemption permit, emergency services, and cyclists.
3. Copies of particulars giving further details of the scheme: -
(a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 25/042, at The Civic Centre, (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham, between 9:15am and 5:00pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and
(b) may be viewed on the Council’s website at: http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for that reason to the High Court.

(Whitton Road) (Parking Places) (No. ) Order 202 - The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames - (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No. ) Order 202 - Zone Wr – Chase Gardens, Twickenham - (Reference 26/158)
1. The Council of The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames propose to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46 and 49 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Parking Places Order will be to extend the WR Controlled Parking Zone into Chase Gardens. The Controlled Parking Zone will operate between 8:30am and 6:30pm Mondays to Saturdays inclusive.
3. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order will be to introduce waiting restrictions in various lengths of Chase Gardens operating either at any time, or between 8:30am and 6:30pm Mondays to Saturdays inclusive.
4. Within the zone, there will be designated permit holder only parking places and permit parking areas where only vehicles which display a valid permit may park during the controlled hours, or shared use bays.
5. Copies of the proposed Orders, a plan showing the location and effect of the Orders and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders: -
(a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 26/158, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and
(b) may be viewed on the Council’s website at: http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices.
6. Persons wishing to object to or support the proposals or any part thereof should write to: The Head of Engineering, Traffic and Parking Policy, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ, by no later than 25 September 2026, giving the grounds of their objection. Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 (1) - Temporary Parking Restrictions & Cycle Lane Suspension, Strawberry Vale, & Clive Road, Twickenham - (Reference 26/150)
1. The Council of The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Strawberry Vale, & Clive Road, Twickenham.
2. Whilst the works take place the Cycle Lane will be suspended in Strawberry Vale Twickenham both sides of the road from outside number 8 to 114.
3. The parking restrictions and road closures will operate on a rolling basis as per the table below.
4. The order will come into effect on 24 August 2026. The restrictions will be in force at all times from 24 August until 09 October 2026. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
6. Nothing in the Order applies to:
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

3. The order will come into effect on 28 August 2026. The restrictions will be in force at all times from 28 August until 27 November 2026. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
