Sutton - Multiple Traffic Restrictions Due To Various Works

What is happening?

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON

PUBLIC NOTICES - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
1. The Council of The London Borough of Sutton hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate sewer repairs and because these works are being executed on or near the carriageway it has made an Order the effect of which is summarised in paragraph 3 below.

2. The Order will come into effect on Wednesday 26th August 2026 and is expected to take 3 days to complete, however the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic including pedal cycles from entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding in Cambridge Road at its junction with Carshalton Road.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic when the prohibition is in place will be via, either; -
- Carshalton Road, Beynon Road, Salisbury Road, Blakehall Road, Carshalton Park Road and Wales Avenue; or
- Oxford Rd and Wales Avenue.

5. Vehicles’ access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

2. The Order will come into effect on Monday 31st August 2026 and is expected to take 1 month to complete, however the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic including pedal cycles from entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding in The Drive at its junction with Buckingham Way.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic when the prohibition is in place will be via: Sandy Lane South, The Newlands, Foresters Drive, Timberslip Drive, Ambrey Way and vice versa.

5. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

2. The Order will come into effect on Monday 31st August 2026 and is expected to take 2 months to complete, however the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are displayed the Order will temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic including pedal cycles from entering, exiting, stopping or proceeding in Buckingham Way between its junctions with The Drive and Ingleby Way.

Please note that the works will be carried out in stages and the diversion route will depend on the current stage.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic when the prohibition is in place will be via either;
- Sandy Lane South, The Newlands, Foresters Drive, Timberslip Drive and Ambrey Way;
or
- The Drive, Sandy Lane South and The Newlands.

5. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic when the prohibition is in place will be via: A237 Manor Road, Park Road, Bute Road.

5. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

- Clifton Road, A237 Manor Road, Belmont Road.

5. Vehicles access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length of road will be maintained at all times insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The prohibitions specified above apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
