NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Parsonage Way, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Parsonage Way, Leigh on 1st October 2026.

The alternative route for traffic is: Atherleigh Way – Leighbrook Way.

The Order is necessary to allow installation of frame and cover.

Edale Road, Leigh – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Edale Road, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Edale Road, Leigh on 29th September 2026 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow installation of frame and cover.

Heath Street, Golborne – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Heath Street, Golborne) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Heath Street, Golborne on 28th September 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only.

The alternative route for traffic is: High Street – Church Street – Ashton Road – Edge Green Lane

The Order is necessary to allow installation of frame and cover.

Hawkhurst Park, Leigh – Temporary Closure

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Hawkhurst Park, Leigh) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Hawkhurst Park, Leigh from 23rd September 2026 to 2nd October 2026.

Access will be maintained for residents where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow new electric connection.

Bus Lane Consolidation Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough Council (Greater Manchester) (Bus Lanes) (Consolidation) Order 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke the following bus lane Orders in their entirety:

• Bus Lane Consolidation Order 2019

• A49 Wigan Lane & Wigan Road Bus Lanes Order 2021

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Chief Legal Officer, Wigan Council, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN or by emailing the above email address quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/15556918 not later than 18th September 2026.
