1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
2. The general effect of the ‘Free Parking Places’ Order would be to:-
(a) designate a parking place on the carriageway at each of the locations listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;
(b) provide that the parking places would operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;
(c) specify, in respect of the parking places, that vehicles displaying in the relevant position, a disabled persons badge (commonly referred to as “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;
(d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc;
(e) relocate the disabled persons parking place outside No. 127 Sherwood Park Road south-westward for a distance of 1 metre;
(f) revoke the disabled persons parking places at the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
3. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Order would be to shorten in length an existing permit only parking place to facilitate the introduction of a disabled persons parking place in Garden Avenue.
4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which show the exact lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.
5. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX, or alternatively e-mail trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/DPPP80, no later than 11 September 2026.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 19 August 2026, made the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the ‘Cycle Hire Parking Places’ Order will be to:
(a) designate a parking place on the carriageway in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule 1 to this notice for the leaving of electric assisted pedal cycles being used in a public hire scheme operated under an agreement with the Council;
(b) extend 5 metre long cycle hire parking places in Deer Park Road, Endeavour Way and Jubilee Way to 10 metre long cycle-hire parking places in the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.
3. The general effect of the ‘Free Parking Places’ Orders will be to remove existing parking place in the lengths of road specified in the Schedules to this notice to accommodate the introduction or extension of pedal cycle hire parking places.
4. A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 1 September 2026, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans specifying the roads or lengths of road affected by the Orders, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX. 5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
