What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 507005 IN THE PARISH OF BURTON-IN-KENDAL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to Westmorland and Furness Council carrying out drainage works (the works), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along all of footpath no. 507005 between grid references 353291, 476425 and 353018, 476439.
No alternative is available for pedestrians.
The Order will come into operation on 07 September 2026 as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, the order may continue in force for a period of up to six months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is estimated that the work will take 1 month.
