What is happening?

PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.4, WHITTON
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 21st August 2024, the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said footpath should be prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the footpath, which is not attributable to such works.

The effect of the Order, which came into effect on 21st August 2024, is to temporarily close the full length of Footpath No. 4, Whitton at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify users of the closure. Access for pedestrians and emergency services will not be maintained.

The Order, which was due to expire on 20th August 2026, has been extended with approval from the Secretary of State for Transport for a further 6 months until 20th February 2027, or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
