What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and
(On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.37) Order 202*
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (4), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the Order:
To Implement: ‘No Stopping at Any Time’ (Red Route) Restrictions in the District of Uttlesford
Road: Frambury Lane
Description:
West Side: From a point approximately 3 metres from the extended southern kerb line of the Newport Primary School entrance southwest for approximately 83.5 metres.
East Side:
(i) From a point approximately 3 metres from the extended southern kerb line of the Newport Primary School entrance southwest for approximately 64 metres.
(ii) From the extended southern kerb line of the School Car Park Entrance south for approximately 18.5 metres.
Car Park Entrance: From its junction with Frambury Lane east for approximately 4.5 metres
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tile/s: TL515 335 Revision 0 to Revision 1 and introducing TL515 332

(Freshwell Street/Freshwell Gardens, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Freshwell Street/Freshwell Gardens, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of approximately 155m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th September 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WH2FKN3F01L2CSB/BC008WH2FKN3F02L2CSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 27th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hill Road, Hempstead & Hempstead Road, Hempstead/Radwinter)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hill Road, Hempstead & Hempstead Road, Hempstead/Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction with Sampford Road for a distance of approximately 2160m in a north easterly, south easterly, north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153096082, EP20153096083 & EP201EH2407994 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
The alternative route will be via: B1053, B1055, B1054 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Sampford Hall Lane, Little Sampford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sampford Hall Lane, Little Sampford in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Bardfield End Green Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNTVK2R – Openreach).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Sampford Hall Lane, B1051, B184 Bardfield Road, Bardfield End Green, Thaxted Road, Bardfield End Green Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
