FURNESS (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION

OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Westmorland and Furness Council on 17 February 2026, which became operative on 23 February 2026, as a result of pylon replacement works to be carried out (“the Works”) and which would otherwise expire on 23 August 2026:

has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 23 February 2027 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 520022 between grid references: 321446, 485110 and 321735 484876.

A suitable alternative route for pedestrians is available across the railway crossing and along Angerton Marsh Lane.

If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate minister.
