What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(MIDDLEFIELDS AND HEDDON WAY AREA) ORDER 2026

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to:- INTRODUCE No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on Heddon Way north side (i) from its junction with Boldon Lane in a south westerly direction for 15m (ii) from a point 108m southwest of its junction with Boldon Lane in a south westerly direction for 40m (iii) from a point 279m southwest of its junction with Boldon Lane in a south westerly then north westerly direction for 43.7m (iv) from a point 206m southwest of its junction with Boldon Lane in a south westerly direction for 21m; south side from its junction with Boldon Lane in a south westerly direction for 300m. Heddon Way, unnamed access road to South Tyneside
Homes Building both sides from a point 215m southwest of its junction with Boldon Lane in a northerly direction for 15m. Throckley Way both sides from its junction with Heddon Way in a southerly direction for 14m. Boldon Lane west side from a point 10m north of its junction with Heddon Way to a point 13.7m south of its junction. Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall at the address below. If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the Council’s Legal Services Department at the address below or by using the same email address above by 11 September 2026.
