(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to introduce a restriction and one-way system on a length of highway as described below and to temporarily close a length of highway also as described below in the County of Northumberland.
Restriction and one-way system
A one-way system will be in place to restrict the carriageway to allow for works to take place and allow for traffic to head east only on the U6116 Coopies Lane from its junction with the A192 to its junction with U6116 Coopies Way for a length of 575 metres.
Road closure
A road closure will be in place on the U6166 Coopies Lane from its junction with theA192 to its junction with U6116 Coopies Way for a length of 575 metres. The Order is to be effective from the 7th September 2026 until the 1st December 2026.
It is expected that the restriction with the one-way system will be in force from the 7th September 2026 until the 18th September 2026 and that it will be in force from 08:00 to 16:00; however, the order will remain in place until the 1st December 2026.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic heading west will be via the U6166, A196, and A192.
It is expected that the road will be closed from the 21st September 2026 until the 25th September between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00; however, the order will remain in place until the 1st December 2026.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the U6166, A196, A192, and vice versa.

The restriction with the one-way system, road closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to be in place for civils and resurfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order
