UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL)

INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING

(FOOTPATH FROM PRINCE WILLIAM DRIVE TO DARK LANE, TILEHURST)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpath, namely Footpath from Prince William Drive To Dark Lane, Tilehurst, between its junction with Prince William Drive and its junction with Dark Lane (its entire length).

The alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians effected by the order is via Prince William Drive, Overdown Road, Dark Lane and vice versa.

The purpose of this Order is to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists due to a private unstable wall.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 10th August 2026 it is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 10th August 2026 and 10th February 2027. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
