Public Path Extinguishment Order 2026
On 11 August 2026, Cornwall Council confirmed the above order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish a length of Public Footpath 6 in the Parish of Lansallos commencing at its junction with a part of Footpath 6 Lansallos to be retained approximately 94 metres south-south-east of ‘Ancient Cottage’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SX 23449/54435 then continuing in a generally north-northwesterly direction for a distance of 111 metres to a point where it terminates at the parish boundary short of its junction with Unclassified Road (U6148) approximately 19 metres north of ‘Ancient Cottage’ at OSGR SX 23385/54524.
A copy of the operative order and order map may be downloaded from Cornwall Council’s website at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/ countryside/public-path-orders/confirmed-public-path-orders/ and have also been placed and may be seen free of charge at Looe Library and Information Service, Millpool, Looe PL13 2AF. Between the hours of 9.30am to 1pm on Monday, 9.30am to 7pm on Tuesday, 9.30am to 5pm on Thursday, 9.30am to 1pm on Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday. Alternatively copies of the order and order map may be obtained free of charge from proworders@cornwall.gov.uk.
The order came into force on the date on which the order was confirmed, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from the date of this Notice, make application to the High Court. 26 August 2026
