Temporary Closure of Elizabeth Road, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Elizabeth Road, Blandford Forum at its junction with Barnes Close for a distance of approximately 20 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25 September 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to replace faulty linkboxes.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Hunt Road, Blandford Forum

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Hunt Road, Blandford Forum between Carter Close and Elizabeth Road, a distance of approximately 60 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 September 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to replace equipment.

Temporary Closure of Chickerell Road, Weymouth - Night Works

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHICKERELL ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with the entrance to Budmouth Academy and Chelwood Gate, a distance of approximately 95 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 23 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 August 2026. Works will take place between 2000hrs and 0600hrs.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surfacing and lining works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Buckland Newton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Buckland Newton as listed: [i] B3143, Buckland Newton from junction with Stevens Walk to junction with Lydden Meadow; [ii] Unnamed Road, Buckland Newton from junction with B3143 to outside Church of the Holy Rood; [iii] Unnamed Road, Buckland Newton from outside Stickywicket to outside Fir Trees; [iv] Cranes Meadow, Buckland Newton in its entirety; [vi] The Cross, Buckland Newton from junction with B3143 to a point 100 metres to the east. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 28 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4 September 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The Dorset Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map Based) (Amendment No. 24) (Chickerell Road, Chickerell) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

When the Order comes into operation on 28 August 2026 the effect of the Order will be to:

• Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading at any time restrictions along parts of Chickerell Road, Chickerell

• Formalise the school keep clear markings along part of Chickerell Road, Chickerell (outside of the entrance to Budmouth Academy).

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 22/1, Studland

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath SE22/1, Studland from grid reference SZ036 828 to grid reference SZ 036 830 a distance of approximately 160 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users.

It will come into operation on 6 March 2026 for a period of 26 weeks initially, however has been extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport and will now remain in operation until 6 March 2028.

The order is needed to due to safety concerns as erosion is causing the cliff edge to collapse.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Diversion route will be provided across the car park and down the path at the northern end of the car park on the beach.
