What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, STAPLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BX26-175)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Stapleford in the Borough of Broxtowe.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of roads as listed in paragraph 3.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (Both sides) (at any time) in the following length of roads as listed in paragraph 3.

3. Newton Drive, Stapleford - From its junction with Brookhill Street for its full length.

Myrtle Avenue, Stapleford - From its junction with Brookhill Street for its full length.

Brookhill Street, Stapleford - From its junction with B6003 Toton Lane to its junction with Linden Grove.

West Avenue, Stapleford - From its junction with B5010 Nottingham Road to its junction with West Cross Avenue.

Grenville Drive, Stapleford - From its junction with B6004 Hickings Lane for its full length.

4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00 hours on Thursday 3rd September 2026
Until 16:00 hours on Friday 18th September 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

The Order will come into force on 3rd September 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable VIA East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Carriageway repair works.
