(Littlehampton: Courtwick Road and Selwyn Avenue Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact a recently installed restriction prohibiting waiting at any time at the junction of Courtwick Road with Selwyn Avenue in Littlehampton

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 24 August 2026, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website.

People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 20 August 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Sompting: West Street/Upper Brighton Road)
 (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close West Street/Upper Brighton Road in Sompting from its junction with Church Lane, westwards for 500m. The road closure is needed to allow maintenance to telecommunication cables to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 24 August 2026 and remain in force until 4 September 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(South Farm Road Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact recently installed restrictions prohibiting waiting at any time on the western side of South Farm Road in Worthing, adjacent to Offington Park Methodist Church.

A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 24 August 2026, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website.

People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close the following roads in Littlehampton throughout their entire lengths unless otherwise stated:

Sea Lane/Sea Road/South Terrace (B2140) from the junction of Sea Lane with Hobbs Lane, southwards and westwards to the junction of South Terrace with Pier Road,
Pier Road from South Terrace, to Clifton Road,
St Catherines Road, Beach Road from Maltravers road to South Terrace,
Irvine Road from Beach Road to St Augustines Road,
St Augustines Road, Selbourne Road from St Augustines Road to Beach Road,
Fitzalan Road from South Terrace to Maltravers Road,
Maltravers Drive, St Winefrides Road from Maltravers Drive to South Terrace,
Hendon Avenue, Harsfold Road, Holmes Lane from Harsfold Road to Sea Lane.

The closure of these roads is needed to allow the Littlehampton 10k running event to take place in safely.

The Order will come into effect on 6 September 2026 from 0600 to 1200.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be managed by marshals on site.

(Ford: Tortington Lane)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Tortington Lane in Ford, from its junction with Ford Road, northwards to its junction with Priory Lane.

The road closure is needed to allow new telecommunications cables to be installed in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 7 September 2026 and remain in force until 18 September 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
